Ingredients

  • 1 big bunch spinach (washed well and finely chopped)
  • 5 medium sized potatoes
  • 5 cubes cheese (grated)
  • 5 bread slices
  • 3 tbsp corn flour
  • 5 to 6 green chillies (crushed)
  • 2 piece ginger (crushed)
  • handful finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tsp pepper powder
  • oil for deep frying
  • salt to taste

How to Make Cheese and Spinach Balls

  • Immerse the washed spinach in boiling water for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Remove and put it in plain water for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Remove and squeeze out the water completely with your hands.
  • Grind the spinach coarsely. Keep aside.
  • Dry grind the bread slices.
  • Boil the potatoes and mash when still hot.
  • In a big bowl mix together mashed potatoes, spinach, cheese, crushed green chillies, ginger, coriander leaves, corn flour, pepper powder and salt. Mix gently.
  • Divide into equal medium sized portions.
  • Shape each portion into ball.
  • Deep fry the spinach- cheese balls in hot oil till golden.
  • Serve hot with tomato ketchup and French fries.
