Ingredients

  • 1 - small chicken (500 to 600 g), cut into 8 pieces
  • 2 - medium onions
  • 3 to 4 - green chillies
  • 6 - garlic flakes
  • 12 - almonds
  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - garam masala powder
  • 1/2 cup - milk
  • 1.5 tsp - salt
  • For garnishing:
  • Few - chopped almonds (preferably blanched, skin removed)
  • Few - chopped coriander leaves.

How to Make Chicken Dilbahar

  • Microwave the almonds in 1/2 a cup of water on high power for 1 minute.
  • Remove skin and grind to a fine paste.
  • Use little water or milk if needed, for grinding.
  • Grind together onion, garlic and green chillies to a paste.
  • In a dish, mix oil, onion paste and garam masala.
  • Microwave on high power, uncovered for 4 minutes.
  • Add chicken to the onion paste. Mix well.
  • Microwave on high power, uncovered for 5 minutes.
  • Dissolve almond paste in milk.
  • Add salt and almond paste to chicken. Mix well.
  • Microwave on high power uncovered for 6 minutes.
  • Let it stand for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Serve, decorated with chopped almonds and fresh coriander leaves.
