Ingredients

  • Chicken - 1/2 kg
  • Onion - 1, medium sized, finely chopped
  • Tomato - 2, medium sized, finely diced
  • Yogurt - 2 tbsp
  • Ginger-garlic paste (fresh) - 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1.5 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1.5 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 2-3 tsp
  • Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp, finely chopped

How to Make Chicken In Gravy

  • Clean and wash the chicken.
  • In a bowl, mix the yogurt, 1/2 tsp of turmeric, red chilli, salt, ginger-garlic paste and garam masala powder.
  • Coat the chicken with this marinade and keep aside for an hour.
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker, saute onions to golden brown and add the remaining ginger-garlic paste.
  • Stir for a second, then add the marinated chicken and fry for a minute.
  • Add all the powder masalas, stir and add the tomatoes, salt, 1/2 glass of water and pressure-cook for 1 whistle.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
