  • 2 lbs - chicken pieces
  • 2 - onions
  • 1/2 cup - chopped tomatoes
  • 1.5 tbsp - garlic and ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp - khus khus
  • 1 tbsp - white sesame seeds
  • 4 tbsp - coconut desiccated
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder
  • chilli powder
  • garam masala powder
  • salt to taste

How to Make Chicken Kholapuri

  • Marinate the chicken pieces in 1 tbsp garlic and ginger and 1 tsp of turmeric powder for 1/2 to 1 hour.
  • Dry fry khus khus, sesame seeds and coconut until brown.
  • Heat little oil and fry sliced onions until brown.
  • Grind the browned onions and khus khus mixture. Set aside.
  • In a big vessel, heat oil and add chopped onions and fry. Add 1/2 tsp ginger and garlic paste and fry
  • Now add chilli powder according to your taste and fry.
  • Add the chopped tomatoes and fry until oil separates.
  • Add the chicken pieces and mix , add lot of water and allow to boil.
  • Now add the ground khus-khus paste, salt and garam masala powder. Cover and cook until done.
  • Serve hot with rice or rotis.
