Ingredients

  • Chicken - 1 kg
  • Green chillies - 12
  • Oil - 3 tbsp
  • Salt - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • Tomatoes -3 pureed
  • Onions -3 finely chopped
  • Curry leaves - 1 tbsp
  • Mint, coriander, kasuri methi (ground) - 2 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1.5 tsps
  • For Kurma masala:
  • Poppy seeds -1/2 tsp
  • Dry coconut powder - 2 tbsp
  • Khaju, badam, kismis - 1 tbsp each (grind all the above to a fine paste)
  • Thick curds - 1 cup.

How to Make Chicken Kurma with garlic

  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Fry the onions along with green chillies till they turn golden brown.
  • Add chicken pieces, turmeric and salt after a while.
  • When chicken is half cooked, add chilli powder, ginger garlic paste and green masala paste, tomato puree and stir well.
  • Add kurma masala paste and mix well. Add one glass of water, curds and cook till the gravy thickens. Serve.
