Ingredients

  • 400 g - prawns, medium-sized
  • 50 g - mustard seeds, soaked in water
  • 1 cup - coconut milk
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 - tomato, medium-sized, grated
  • 2-3 - green chillies

How to Make Chingri Malaikari

  • Marinate the prawns with turmeric powder and salt for 10 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry the prawns. Keep aside.
  • Grind the soaked mustard seeds into a smooth paste.
  • Cook the mustard paste, tomato and the coconut milk in oil. l
  • Add the fried prawns to it and cook for 5-7 minutes until the mustard paste mixes well with the prawns.
  • Add salt to taste and the green chillies.
  • Serve with steamed rice.
