Ingredients

  • 2 cup - rice
  • 1 tbsp - garlic pods, peeled
  • 2 - green chillies, slit lengthwise
  • 1/2 cup - coconut gratings
  • A sprig - curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp - ghee
  • 1 tsp - black gram dal
  • 1 tsp - mustard seed
  • 3/4 tsp - salt

How to Make Coconut Rice with garlic

  • Heat ghee in a thick bottomed pan and splutter mustard and black gram dal.
  • Add curry leaves, slit green chillies and garlic pods and fry till they turn brown.
  • Add the leftover rice and 3/4 tsp salt and stir over a slow flame for about 5 mins
  • Remove from fire, add the coconut gratings and mix well.
  • Serve hot.
