Ingredients

  • 500 g - prawns, shelled and cleaned
  • 3 - onions, chopped finely
  • 1 - onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp - tamarind pulp
  • 1 tbsp - jaggery
  • 1 tsp - garlic paste
  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • Salt as per taste
  • 2 tbsp - chopped coriander leaves
  • For powder (roast and grind): 2 - cloves
  • 4 - peppercorns
  • 1 tbsp - coriander seeds
  • 1 tbsp - cumin seeds
  • 4 - dried red chilli
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder

How to Make Colmi-No-Patio

  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add sliced onion. Fry till brown.
  • Add the powder and saute for 2-3 minutes
  • Add salt, chopped onion and garlic paste.
  • Saute for another 2 minutes
  • Add 1/2 cup water and prawns.
  • When prawns are cooked, add tamarind pulp and jaggery.
  • Cook for another 5 minutes
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot.
