  • Vegetables carrot, cabbage, beans - 1/2 kg
  • Onion - 2 to 3
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Green chillI - 3 to 4
  • Coconut - 1/2
  • Mustard seed
  • Oil

How to Make Common Vegetable Thoren

  • Chop the vegetables finely
  • Take a fry pan and splutter mustard seeds in oil
  • Add finely chopped onion
  • When the onion has turned light brown in colour, add 1 tsp turmeric powder, medium chopped green chilly and salt to taste.
  • Thoroughly mix all these in the fry pan.
  • Add grated coconut and mix well.
  • Add the chopped vegetable and stir
  • Add a little water and cook the vegetable till done, stirring at intervals
  • Serve with chappathi or rice
