Ingredients

  • 1 cup - corn polenta (coarsely ground cornmeal)
  • 1 - onion
  • 2 - tomato
  • 2 cloves - garlic
  • 3 - green chillies
  • 1 tsp - ginger
  • Asafetida - a pinch
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp - urad dal
  • 1 tbsp - coriander leaves
  • Curry leaves -few sprigs
  • 1 tsp - lime juice

How to Make Corn polenta upma

  • Dry roast corn polenta and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustards seeds, urad dal, sliced onion, garlic, ginger and saute with a pinch of salt for 2 minutes.
  • Now add tomatoes and green chillies add asafoetida, and add 3 cups of water, required salt and bring it to a boil.
  • Now add roasted corn polenta, mix well, and cook covered until it's done.
  • Finally add lime juice, coriander leaves, curry leaves and mix well.
  • Serve.
