Ingredients

  • 8 pieces boneless fish fillet
  • equal quantities of corn flour and plain flour mixed with a little water to make batter
  • 1 cup - finely crushed cornflakes
  • Oil for deep frying
  • For the marinade:
  • 2 tbsp - mint chutney
  • 2 tbsp - vinegar or lime juice
  • 1.5 tsp - red chilli powder
  • For the mint chutney:
  • 1 bunch fresh mint leaves
  • 4 green chillies
  • 2 tbsp - vinegar or lemon juice
  • 2 medium onions
  • 1 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp - grated ginger
  • 1 clove - garlic
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Crispy Fish fry

  • Mint chutney:
  • Grind all ingredients together.
  • For the fish:
  • Combine and mix all ingredients for marinade in a bowl.
  • Add fish fillets, and coat well with the marinade.
  • Leave the fish to marinade for 30 minutes or 1 hour.
  • Dip the fish in corn flour and plain flour batter and then coat the fish with fresh cornflakes.
  • Deep-fry in hot oil.
  • Serve hot with extra mint chutney mixed in yoghurt.
