Ingredients

  • 250 g- dates
  • 1 kg- carrot
  • 500 ml - milk
  • 1 tin- condensed milk
  • 250 g- ghee
  • 100 g, chopped- cashew nuts
  • 50 g- raisins
  • 1/2 tsp- nutmeg, grated

How to Make Date and Carrot Halwa

  • Chop dates finely. Peel and grate carrots.Add milk to dates and cook in a thick bottomed vessel.
  • After 5 minutes, add carrots. Simmer till almost all the milk is absorbed.
  • Add condensed milk. Reserve 2 Tbsp of ghee and add the rest to the date and carrot mixture.
  • Cook stirring till the mixture forms a soft lump.
  • Fry cashew nuts and raisins in reserved ghee and add to the halwa.
  • Add grated nutmeg. Serve hot or cold.
