Ingredients

  • 500 gm - Dates
  • 2 tea cups - Red Chillies
  • 1 pod - Garlic (paste)
  • 1/2 pod - Ginger (paste)
  • Salt
  • 5 tsp - Oil

How to Make Dates Pickle

  • Soak the dates in enough water to cover it. Refrigerate it for one week.
  • After 7 days the dates will be very soft and the seeds can be removed easily. Then strain it
  • Grind the red chillies into powder.
  • In a pan heat the oil (5 tsp).
  • Add the garlic, ginger, red chilli powder, and salt.
  • Then add the dates paste, and allow to cook for 15 minutes.
  • Remove, and cool.
  • The pickle goes well with Puris, Dosas, Chapattis, etc.
