Bottle Gourd Peel Chutney is a healthy chutney that can be served along with any form of Indian breakfast. Bottle Gourd is called 'dudhi or lauki' in Hindi, 'Anapakaya' in Telugu and 'Suraikkai' in Tamil. This vegetable is rich in water content and lowers the cholesterol level.  

The chutney is easy to prepare with a few ingredients - thick peel of bottle gourd, mustard, asafoetida, chopped green chillies, sliced coconut and sesame seeds.

  • 50 gms. bottle gourd peel
  • 15 gms. sesame seeds
  • 15 gms. dry coconut
  • 5 gms. green chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp. oil
  • ¼ tsp. mustard seeds
  • A pinch of asafoetida

How to Make Dudhi (Bottlegourd) Peel Chutney

  • Wash bottle gourd. Peel thick.
  • Fry in oil, mustard, asafoetida, chopped green chillies, sliced coconut, sesame seeds and peel.
  • When crisp, remove. Grind into a fine paste using little water.
