Ingredients

  • 3 - long green karelas (bitter gourd)
  • 3 tbsp - tamarind paste
  • 6 tbsp - dry/fresh coconut-grated
  • 2 tbsp - sambar masala powder
  • 1 tbsp - red chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp - sesame(til)seeds
  • salt as per taste
  • 5 tbsp - oil
  • 5 cups - water

How to Make Easy Bharwa Karela

  • Boil water with salt and tamarind paste.
  • Slit karela and add to boiling water.
  • Cook for 15 mins. Remove seeds from karelas.
  • Mix grated coconut, sambar powder, chilli powder and til.
  • Stuff this mixture in karelas.
  • Take oil in frying pan.
  • Place karelas and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Bharwa karelas are ready. Serve with rotis.
