  • 2 glass basmati rice
  • green peas, beans, carrot, cauliflower - as require
  • 2 tbsp - ghee
  • 1 onion(medium)
  • 1 tomato
  • 8 green chillies
  • a few garlic pods
  • a small piece ginger
  • garam masala powder(otherwise patta,grambu, bey leaves) - as require
  • red chilli powder as require
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder
  • salt as require
  • a few coriander leaves
  • cashewnuts as require
  • raisins(onakka munthiri) as require

How to Make Easy Biryani

  • Soak rice in water for 1 hour.
  • Drain and keep it aside.
  • Heat ghee in a pressure cooker.
  • Add onion, garlic and ginger and fry well.
  • Add all masala powders and saute well.
  • Add green chillies and tomato and saute.
  • Add all vegetables and fry well.
  • Add rice and fry for 5 minutes.
  • Add 5 glasses of water and salt.
  • Close the pressure cooker with the lid.
  • When the steam starts to come straight from the nozzle, put the whistle on and switch off the gas.
  • Open the lid after 10 minutes.
  • Add coriander leaves.
  • Sprinkle cashews and raisins fried in ghee.
