Ingredients

  • Tur Dal - 1 cup
  • Carrots - 1/2 cup (Sliced )
  • Beans - 1/2 cup (Sliced )
  • Cauliflower - 1/2 cup (chopped)
  • Tomato - 2 (Medium-sized, chopped)
  • Coriander leaves - A small bunch chopped
  • Green chilli - 1 (chopped)
  • Turmeric powder - A little
  • Salt to taste
  • Ghee or Oil - 3 tbsp
  • Jeera - 2 tsp
  • Dhania powder - 1.5 tsp
  • Red Chilli powder - As required
  • Curry leaves - A small bunch (chopped)
  • Asafoetida powder - A little

How to Make Easy Dhal

  • Wash the dal and the vegetables.
  • Add the required amount of water and pressure cook all the ingredients from 1 to 9 and let it cool.
  • In a pan, heat oil or ghee. Add jeera. Once it's cooked, add the asafoetida powder, dhania powder, turmeric powder, salt, red chilli powder, and finally add the curry leaves.
  • Add the cooked dal/veggies to this pan and cook it until you get a boil and remove from fire.
  • Garnish this with fresh coriander and curry leaves.
  • Serve hot with rice or roti and pickles.
