  • 1 cup moong dal, soaked for 1 hour
  • For the seasoning:
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tbsp
  • Red chillies - 7 to 8
  • Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
  • Tamarind - 2 inches
  • A few coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Easy Moong dal chutney

  • In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds. Allow it to crackle.
  • Add cumin seeds, asafoetida and red chillies. Let it cool.
  • Put the seasoning in the mixer with the soaked moong dal, tamarind, coriander leaves and salt.
  • Grind it to a smooth paste.
  • Serve with chapattis or rice.
