  • 3 cups - milk
  • 1 cup - water
  • 100 g - vermicelli
  • 1 cup - sugar
  • 2 tsps - ghee
  • 4 - cardamoms
  • Optional - saffron strands
  • 12 - cashews
  • 12- raisins

How to Make Easy Semiya Payasam

  • Heat a pan. Heat 1 tsp of ghee.
  • Add raisins and stir until they bloat. Remove immediately to a plate.
  • Now add cashew nuts and stir till golden. Remove to a plate.
  • Add 1 more tsp of ghee. Add vermicelli and stir slowly till it becomes a golden colour. Keep aside.
  • Boil milk and water in a vessel. Stir frequently.
  • Add sugar and cardamom. Continue stirring and bring to a boil.
  • Now add vermicelli and stir once again until it boils.
  • Remove from heat and keep the lid closed for some time (about 1/2 hour) until vermicelli is cooked.
  • Now garnish with cashew, raisins and saffron.
