  • 2 cup - all purpose flour
  • 1 cup - powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup - butter
  • 2 tbsp - baking powder
  • 3 tbsp - milk powder
  • 15 - almonds, slit in halves, skin removed
  • 4 tsp - almond essence

How to Make Eggless Almond Nankhatai

  • Heat the oven to 350 Fahrenheit.
  • Lightly coat a large baking tray with butter and dust with all-purpose flour and set aside
  • Sift the flour, baking powder, and milk powder in a mixing bowl.
  • Beat the butter and sugar in a separate bowl till light and fluffy
  • Fold in the flour mixture into this and whisk again, in the same direction until it is smooth.
  • Add the almond or vanilla essence.
  • Now take some oil and grease your palms.
  • Divide the dough into 12 equal portions, then flatten the dough and form a circular shapes
  • Press the edges to form a smooth cookie.
  • Tuck a sliver of almond into the centre of the cookie.
  • Lay out each of the cookies on the tray at least 1-2 inches apart.
  • Bake them for 10-15 mins, or until done.
