Ingredients

  • 2 cups - Whole Wheat Pastry flour
  • 1 cup - All-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp - Active dry yeast
  • 1 cup - Luke Warm Milk
  • 1 tsp - Salt
  • 2 tsp - Sugar
  • 3 tbsp - Melted butter
  • 1 tbsp - Flour for dusting
  • For Filling:
  • 1/4 cup - Dry fruits (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup - Nuts (sliced almonds, hazel nuts)
  • 1/4 cup - Sugar
  • 1 tbsp - Cinnamon powder

How to Make Eggless Whole Wheat Fruits and Nuts Swirl Bread

  • Mix the lukewarm milk, salt, sugar and yeast in a bowl.
  • Keep aside for 5 minutes.
  • The yeast will turn foamy.
  • In a large bowl add flour, the foamy yeast and 2 tbsp of melted butter and knead into a dough.
  • The dough will be extremely sticky, but after kneading it for few minutes it will turn elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl and keep to sit in a warm place for an hour.
  • Roll out the risen dough into a thick disc, sprinkle finely chopped dry fruits, sliced nuts and sprinkle sugar and cinnamon powder over the fruits and nuts.
  • Roll the dough again and place it in a greased loaf pan and keep to sit in a warm place until it rises.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Brush the dough with the remaining melted butter and sprinkle the sliced almonds and sugar over the dough.
  • Arrange the loaf pan in the middle rack of a preheated oven and bake for 30-45 minutes or until the bread turns golden brown.
  • Remove the Bake bread from the oven and keep aside for 5 minutes.
  • Remove bread from the loaf pan and let it cool for 30 minutes before serving.
