  • 1kg - tomatoes
  • 1.5tsp - oil
  • 1/2 tsp - panch phoron (a mixture of methi seeds, mustard seeds, jeera and kalonji)
  • 1/4 cup - raisins
  • 2 tbsp - jaggery

How to Make Fiery Tomato Chutney

  • Cut tomatoes lengthwise.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add panchphoron.
  • When it crackles, add tomatoes, sugar and salt and cover the pan to let it boil.
  • After the first boil, lower the flame.
  • Boil till the tomatoes change colour and mixture takes chutney consistency.
  • Soak raisins in water for 10 mins.
  • Add raisins to the pan with jaggery.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Take off heat and serve with rice.
