Ingredients

  • Fish slices (pomfret, mullet or mackerel) - 1/2 kg
  • Dry red chillies - 8
  • Black peppercorn - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic - 4 flakes
  • Shallot (sambar onion) - 4 to 5
  • Rava - 2 tbsp, to coat
  • Oil to deep fry
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Fish Rawa Fry

  • Wash the fish, drain and pat dry with kitchen paper.
  • Grind chillies, pepper corn, turmeric, garlic and onion to a smooth paste and mix with salt.
  • Apply the paste on both sides of fish slices.
  • Keep aside for 15-30 minutes.
  • Coat with semolina and deep fry in moderately hot oil till golden brown.
  • Drain well and serve.
