Ingredients

  • 500 gm - fish (preferably hammour)
  • 4 tbsp - chick pea flour
  • salt to taste
  • For the Marinade:
  • 1 large onion, finely sliced
  • 1 tbsp - ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - mango powder
  • 1 tsp - lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp - yoghurt
  • 4 tbsp - roasted chick pea flour
  • 2 tbsp - cream
  • food color (optional)
  • oil for deep frying and basting
  • salt to taste

How to Make Fish Tikka

  • Mix salt and chick pea flour in a bowl and mix the fish in it.
  • Keep aside for one hour.
  • Wash and pat dry.
  • Deep fry the onions in oil till brown.
  • Drain and make into a paste with a little water.
  • Mix all the ingredients of the marinade in a bowl along with the onion paste.
  • Mix in the fish and refrigerate for 3 hours.
  • Oil the skewers and cook in a tandoor basting with oil 2-3 times.
