Ingredients

  • Fish slices - 1/2 kg
  • Ridge gourd - 250 gm, peeled and chopped
  • Turmeric powder - 1.5 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Mustard oil - 4 tbsp
  • Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Lime juice - 2 tsp
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp

How to Make Fish with Ridge Gourd (Thurai)

  • Apply salt and turmeric to fish slices and keep aside for 15-20 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the fish on both sides, drain well and reserve.
  • Add fenugreek seeds to the remaining oil in the pan.
  • When they splutter, add, ridge gourd remaining turmeric and fry well.
  • Add salt and 1/2 cup of water.
  • Simmer for 5 mins.
  • Add the fish, simmer for 2 more mins.
  • Remove from heat and add in the lime juice and stir.
  • Serve.
