Ingredients

  • 4 cups - grated carrots
  • 1 tin - sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup - raisins, chopped cashewnuts, almonds, pistachios
  • 1-2 tbsp - ghee
  • 2 tbsp - butter
  • 1 tbsp - cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp - rose water
  • 2 tbsp - chopped nuts for garnishing
  • 1 sheet - of vark (thin edible silver sheets) as decoration.

How to Make Gaajar ka Halwa

  • In a non-stick sauce-pan, fry the nuts in butter for few seconds and keep aside.
  • In the same pan, heat ghee and fry the carrot, raisins and cardamom for 5 mins, stirring occasionally to cook evenly.
  • Add the sweetened condensed milk simmer for 5 mins and mix the rose water and fried nuts in it.
  • Stir well and garnish with the vark sheet and chopped nuts.
