Ingredients

  • 500 g - finely ground carrots
  • 500 g - shelled green peas
  • 250 g - small prawns, shelled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp - ground cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp - garam masala
  • 1 tsp - pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp - sugar
  • 5 - red chillies, powdered
  • 3 - green chillies, minced
  • a few sprigs coriander leaves
  • salt to taste

How to Make Gajjar Chingiri

  • Heat 4 tbsps. oil and add prawns and fry till dry and brown.
  • Put in vegetables, salt, sugar and all the spices and little water.
  • Cover tightly and cook over a slow fire till the prawns and vegetables are cooked and dry.
  • Remove from fire and serve garnished with minced green chillies and sprigs of coriander leaves.
