Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup - Roasted channa dal/pottukadalai
  • 1/2 cup - Peanuts
  • 3 cups - Puffed rice
  • 2 - Dry red chillies
  • Few curry leaves
  • 4 - Garlic cloves (crushed)
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp - Chilli powder
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp - Oil

How to Make Garlicky Puffed Rice Mixture

  • Heat the oil. Fry the peanuts until they turn crispy.
  • Take them out and fry the roasted channa dal to the same oil until they turn brown. Keep them aside.
  • To the same oil, fry the garlic cloves, curry leaves and dry red chillies until they turn brown.
  • Put the flame in simmer and immediately add the turmeric powder, chilly powder and salt to them.
  • Fry for a few seconds. Add the already fried dal and peanuts. Saute for few seconds. Turn off the stove.
  • Now mix this spiced dals and peanuts to the puffed rice.
  • Toss gently until everything gets well mixed.
  • Arrange them in an air tightened box and munch them without any guilt.
