Ingredients

  • 4 pieces (400g) of chicken
  • 3 tsp - ginger garlic paste
  • 5 green chillies
  • 1 onion
  • 1/2 bunch freshly chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 cardamom
  • 4 pepper corns
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 inch - cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin
  • 1/2 tsp - poppy seeds/khus khus
  • 1 lemon-sized ball of tamarind
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Goan Ginger Chicken Cafreal

  • Clean chicken and marinate in ginger garlic paste for about 2 hours.
  • Grind together onion, green chillies, garlic flakes, coriander leaves, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, cumin, pepper corns and poppy seeds to make a fine paste.
  • Marinate chicken in this masala for about 5 hours or overnight.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add marinated chicken, salt and cook on low fire till done.
