Ingredients

  • 500 g - plain flour/maida
  • 1 tsp - salt
  • 250 g - butter or margarine
  • 5 tbsp - water
  • 250 g - cheese, shredded
  • 1 tbsp - pepper powder
  • oil for frying

How to Make Golden Brown Cheese Strips

  • Sift the flour, salt and pepper powder together.
  • Empty into a bowl and add butter and cheese. Mix lightly with a fork.
  • Now add water bit by bit until the flour is moistened and forms a ball (add a little more water if required).
  • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and roll out into a rectangle shape about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Cut the dough into 3-inch strips.
  • Heat oil in a pan and Deep Fried the strips golden brown.
  • Drain and serve.
