  • 1/2 kg mutton
  • 1/4 cup curd
  • 3 to 4 whole red chillies
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp coriander cumin seed powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • finely chopped coriander leaves (to garnish)

How to Make Gravy Mutton

  • Clean and wash the mutton well
  • Soak whole red chillies in 1/2 cup water for 15 to 20 minutes and grind them to a fine paste
  • In a bowl mix curd, ginger garlic paste, red chilli paste, coriander cumin seed powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder and salt
  • Marinate the mutton in the curd mixture for 30 minutes
  • Cook the mutton in a heavy bottom vessel on a low flame
  • Cook covered with a lid that has some water on it
  • Stir at regular intervals
  • Add little water if needed and cook till done
  • Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with salli (grated potato) and hot rotis
