  • 2 - raw cooking bananas
  • 3 - dry red chillies, broken into bits
  • 2 - onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp - chopped ginger
  • 1/4 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 8 - curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup - grated coconut (optional)
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Green Banana Foogath

  • Peel and cut the bananas into small pieces.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard, ginger and curry leaves.
  • When the mustard starts spluttering, and the chopped onion and red chillies and fry till the onions turn slightly brown.
  • Add the banana pieces, turmeric and salt and mix well.
  • Cover and cook for a few minutes till the banana is cooked.
  • Mix in the grated coconut.
