Ingredients

  • Red chillies - according to your taste
  • Channa dal - 1 cup
  • Urad dal - 1 cup
  • Dry coconut powder - 1.5 cups or 1/4 of the coconut
  • Cilantro - 1 bunch
  • Tamarind - 2-3 tsp
  • Hing or Asafoetida - 1 tsp
  • Salt as required
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp

How to Make Green Leaves Chutney Powder

  • Fry red chillies, channa dal, urad dal and asafoetida until they become light red. Powder them and keep them aside.
  • Now add dry coconut powder, salt, cilantro, tamarind and mix well (preferably in mixie).
  • Put one tsp oil in the pan, add 1 tbsp of mustard seeds and then fry for 2 minutes on low fire.
  • Remove from fire, cool and store in an air-tight container.
  • It goes well with rice and chapattis.
