  • 185g - Plain flour
  • 100g - Butter, pieces
  • 110 g - Caster sugar
  • 1 egg- yolk
  • 1 tbsp - Milk, approximately
  • 110g - Chocolate hazelnut spread
  • 2 tbsp - Hazelnut meal.

How to Make Hazelnut pinwheels

  • Combine the flour, sugar and butter until it becomes crumbly.
  • Add the egg yolk and milk and knead the dough until smooth.
  • Refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Now flatten the dough between two sheets of baking paper to form a 20 cm by 30 cm rectangle.
  • Now place the chocolate hazelnut spread in the middle of the dough rectangle.
  • Then sprinkle the hazelnut meal on top of it.
  • Roll the dough tightly to enclose the filling.
  • Now put in a plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 mins.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degree Celsius. Grease and line two baking trays.
  • Remove the plastic from the dough slice roll into 1 cm pieces.
  • Place these slices about 2 cm apart on trays.
  • Bake for 20 mins.
  • Cool on a wire rack .
