  • 10 thin plain soup sticks
  • 5 slices soft white bread
  • 1/2 tsp - garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - mint leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp - coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - poppy seeds
  • 1 tbsp grated, cheese
  • 1/2 tsp- paprika or 1/4 tsp red chilli, crushed coarsely
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp- dry bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp - milk

How to Make Herby Sticks

  • Remove stiff crusts of bread slices.
  • Mix all ingredients except sticks, bread slices, milk.
  • Cut each slice into 2 rectangular halves.
  • Sprinkle some milk on a slice, allow to moisten.
  • Press gently with a rolling pin to flatten.
  • Place one stick at one long end of rectangle.
  • Roll carefully, to cover stick with slice.
  • Roll this in the mixture and be careful not to open it.
  • Arrange on a greased baking sheet.
  • Bake in a hot oven, at 180 C till slices are crisp and golden.
  • Serve hot with soups.
