  • 2 - ripe tomatoes
  • Tamarind - size of lemon
  • 1 tbsp - pepper
  • 2 tbsp - cumin
  • 2 to 3 - dry red chillies
  • 10 cloves - garlic, crushed
  • Curry leaves, coriander leaves for garnishing.

How to Make Hot Rasam

  • Chop tomatoes and boil with tamarind for 8-10 mins in water.
  • Cool and blend in a blender and sieve out the juice.
  • Heat 2 tbsp oil in a kadai, add dry chillies, followed by garlic, cumin, pepper powder and curry leaves.
  • Fry for a few mins, and then add the juice.
  • Add required amount of salt, boil for a while and serve.
