  • plain flour - 1 cup
  • soda - 1/2 tsp
  • butter - 1/3 cup
  • powdered sugar - 1/3 cup
  • rose essence - 1/2 tsp
  • tutti fruitti - 1 tbsp
  • little beaten egg or clotted cream (Malai) if needed

How to Make Hyderabad Cookies

  • Mix flour with soda.
  • Beat butter and sugar well.
  • Add flour, essence and Tuti Fruity.
  • If the mixture is stiff add a little beaten egg or clotted cream.
  • Pat the mixture to one and a half inch thickness. Cut into squares.
  • Bake in a moderate oven till done.
  • Cool and store in an air tight container.
