Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - mutton
  • 2 tbsp - ghee
  • 5 cup - water
  • 2 tbsp - ghee
  • 5 - onions
  • 1/2 kg - rice
  • 2 tbsp - ghee
  • 3 pods - cardamoms
  • 3 sticks - cinnamon
  • 6 - cloves
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Indian Biryani Mutton

  • Cut the meat into big 1-inch pieces and wash.
  • Heat two tbsps ghee in a big pan and put meat in it. Saute.
  • When it is brown and dry, add 4 cups of hot water and salt to taste.
  • Cover with a lid and allow to boil till the meat is soft and cooked.
  • Cut the onions into thin slices and fry them in a frying pan till brown. Drain and keep aside.
  • Wash the rice.
  • Heat remaining ghee in a vessel, and put the rice in.
  • Stir frequently till it becomes brown.
  • Then add the liquid the meat was cooked in and spices.
  • If needed add enough water to come 1-inch above the rice.
  • Boil till the rice is almost cooked.
  • Then add the meat and mix.
  • Put the dish in a microwave oven and cook it till done.
  • Spread the fried onion on the rice as garnishing.
