Ingredients

  • Crabs, cut into medium size pieces - 1 kg
  • Large onions, chopped - 3
  • Large tomatoes, chopped - 3
  • Ginger paste - 2 tbsp
  • Garlic paste - 2 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
  • Green chillies, chopped - 4
  • Fennel seeds - 1.5 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves - 20
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 7 tbsp

How to Make Indian Chilli Crab Masala

  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, fennel seeds and curry leaves.
  • When the seeds starts spluttering, add onions and fry until onions turn brown.
  • Add ginger and garlic pastes and green chillies and fry for 2 mins.
  • Add chopped tomatoes.
  • Cook until oil starts to separate.
  • Add salt and the crabs and cook till done.
