Ingredients

  • 115 gms. potatoes, chopped
  • 75 gms. onions, chopped
  • 5 cups vegetable stock
  • 2cm piece fresh root ginger
  • ½ tsp. ground cumin
  • 3 tbsp. chopped fresh coriander
  • ½ green chilli
  • 275 gms.fresh green peas
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 150 ml. double cream
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Indian Pea Soup

  • Put the potato, onion, stock, ginger and cumin in a pan and bring to the boil.
  • Simmer for 30 minutes. Remove the ginger.
  • Add the coriander, chilli, peas and lemon juie, and salt to taste.
  • Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Puree in a food processor or blender, then reheat.
  • Add the cream and heat before serving.
