  • 3 lb - tilapia fillet
  • 2 cups - red onions (chopped)
  • 2 - green chillies (chopped)
  • 2 - ripe tomatoes (large) (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1-2 tsp - chilli powder
  • Pepper powder as required
  • Lemon juice as required
  • Salt as required
  • 1 - 2 tbsp - olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp - garlic-ginger paste
  • 2 tbsp - coriander leaves (chopped)

How to Make Indian Style Baked Fish

  • Clean and place the tilapia fillet in one layer in a baking dish.
  • Season with salt and pepper powder.
  • Heat oil in a saucepan.
  • Saute the onions and green chillies, until they turn translucent.
  • Add coriander powder, chilli powder, a pinch of pepper powder and ginger-garlic paste and saute, until the oil separates.
  • Add the tomatoes and stir well on low fire, until the mixture is soft and pulpy.
  • Remove from the flame.
  • Add lemon juice and salt.
  • Take the mixture in the saucepan and spread it evenly over the fish so as to cover the fish well.
  • Bake the fish in an oven at about 300 degrees for about 20 mins or just until the fish can be flaked with a butter knife.
  • Serve.
