Ingredients

  • 1 cup - black masoor dal
  • 1 cup - chopped spinach
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder
  • A pinch of hing
  • 1 tsp - ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 - onion
  • 2 - tomato puree
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin seed
  • Curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - kasoori methi
  • Salt
  • 2 tsp - cream

How to Make Indian style Palak dal

  • Boil the dal and spinach, add salt and pressure cook.
  • In another pan, take oil and saute the onions till brown. Then add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste and hing.
  • Add tomato puree, cook for 2 minutes.
  • Then add some water and kasuri methi.
  • Add this masala to the cooked dal and finally the cream.
