  • Rice - 1/2 cup
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • Milk - 4 cups
  • Cashew nuts - 10, cut into half
  • Raisins - 10
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Ghee

How to Make Instant Paal Payasam

  • Mix washed rice with sugar and milk.
  • Pour into a pressure cooker.
  • Cook on medium flame till it blows 2 whistles.
  • Bring the flame to low and slow cook for 20 minutes.
  • Let it cool.
  • In a pan, roast cashew nuts and raisins in ghee and add it in to the payasam (kheer).
  • Garnish with cardamom powder and mix well.
