  • ½ cup red chana
  • 2 cups fresh coconut scrapings
  • 1 tbsp. coriander seeds
  • 1 red chilli
  • 2 onions
  • 1 small ball of tamarind
  • ½ tsp. turmeric powder
  • 3 tbsp. oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Jackfruit and Chana Ghashi(Jackfuit and Gram Curry)

  • Peel and cut jackfruit and boil till soft.
  • Soak chanas overnight and boil till soft.
  • In little oil, fry coriander and fenugreek seeds and red chillies.
  • Grind these very finely with turmeric, tamarind and scraped coconut.
  • Heat remaining oil. Add mustard and curry leaves.
  • Add chana and jackfruit and the coconut paste.
  • Add water as needed. Mash a few chanas to thicken the gravy.
  • Add salt and simmer till blended. Serve hot with rice.
