The authentic ingredients - tamarind, brown sugar, pepper and mint leaves along with the cumin seeds makes it a soothing drink that relieves us from all forms of summer related problems.   • 2 tsp. cumin seeds, roasted and ground
  • 1 walnut sized tamarind
  • ¾ litre pints water
  • 1 ½ tbsp. brown sugar or jaggery
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • 10-15 mint leaves
  • 2 tsp. salt

How to Make Jeera Paani

  • Soak tamarind in ¼ litre of water for 2 minutes.
  • If using jaggery, put in 8.5 ml of water to soak. Leave for one hour.
  • Strain tamarind mixture through a cloth squeezing well to extract a thick juice.
  • Add the sugar to jaggery, pepper, mint leaves and salt. Add rest of the water.
