  • 2 cups - broccoli florets
  • 1 - medium sized onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tbsp - crushed garlic
  • 2 or 3 - green chillies, finely chopped
  • A pinch - garam masala
  • 1 tbsp - cumin seeds
  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • Salt - to taste

How to Make Jhatpat Broccoli

  • Microwave the broccoli florets till they lose their rawness and become slightly soft.
  • Heat oil in pan, add cumin seeds.
  • After the seeds splutter, add the chopped onion and crushed garlic.
  • Fry till onion becomes transparent.
  • Add the chopped green chillies.
  • Add the broccoli florets, mix well and cover and steam the mixture for about 5 minutes on medium flame.
  • Remove the cover, add the garam masala, salt and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  • Serve hot with chapatis.
