Ingredients

  • 1 kg - juicy orange carrots
  • 1.5 litres - milk
  • 500 g - sugar
  • A pinch - cardamom powder
  • A few flakes - saffron
  • A few drops - orange colour
  • 1 tbsp - ghee

How to Make Juicy Carrot Halwa

  • Peel and grate the carrots
  • Pour milk and put the grated carrots in a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Boil till thick, stirring occasionally. Once it starts thickening, stir continuously.
  • Add sugar and cook further till it thickens.
  • Add ghee, elachi, saffron and colour.
  • Stir on low heat till the mixture gathers into a soft ball or the ghee oozes out. Serve hot, decorated with chopped almonds or pista.
