Ingredients

  • 1 cup - channa dal
  • 2 cups - water
  • 1 - green chilli
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp - grated coconut
  • For seasoning:
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • A few curry leaves
  • A pinch of asafetida

How to Make Kadalai paruppu sundal

  • Heat a pan and add the dal and water.
  • Add salt and green chilli cook till the dal becomes soft but not sticky. Set aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.
  • When mustard splutters, add curry leaves and a pinch of asafoetida.
  • Add the cooked channa dal and mix thoroughly with the coconut.
  • Serve hot with rotis or rice.
