Ingredients

  • Lemon size - tamarind
  • 12 to 15 - peppercorns
  • 4 - red chillies
  • 2 tsp - toor dal, 1 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 8 - kandathippili pieces
  • 5 - arisi thippili pieces
  • few - curry leaves
  • For roasting - ghee
  • Few - mustard seeds
  • To taste - salt

How to Make Kandathippili Rasam

  • Roast toor dal, peppercorns and jeera in ghee.
  • Roast kandathippili and arisi thippili in ghee.
  • Grind toor dal, peppercorns, jeera and curry leaves, coarsely.
  • Extract tamarind juice, add salt and let it boil for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Then add the ground powder to it and add some more water to it.
  • Let it boil for 2 minutes.
  • Again add water and boil( you should not boil for a long time) for 30 seconds to 1 minute and remove from flame.
  • Splutter mustard seed, 1 red chilli and curry leaves into it.
  • This is very good for body pain.
