  • 2 cups - all purpose flour
  • 1.5 cup - sugar
  • 1 cup - dry coconut powder
  • 1/2 stick - unsalted butter
  • water for kneading
  • 1/2 tsp - cardamom powder
  • oil for deep frying

How to Make Karigadabu

  • First make the filling by mixing all the dry ingredients including coconut powder, sugar and cardamom powder.
  • Mix the all purpose flour, butter and water to form a thick chapatti-like dough.
  • Make small balls of this dough.
  • Roll one ball at a time into a round shape about the size of a poori.
  • Place 1.5 tsp of the filling on the rolled dough and seal the edges with small drops of milk.
  • Then deep fry it until it gets a golden brown tinge.
  • Remove and drain it on paper towels.
  • Can be stored up to 15-20 days in an airtight container.
